Dr. Greg Houtsma
earned his bachelor's degree in honors biochemistry at Mt. Allison
University in New Brunswick, Canada. After graduating, he entered
Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island,
where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He worked for several
years in mixed animal practice, as well as practicing small animal
emergency work in Illinois.
Immediately prior to coming to Warrensburg
in 2004, Dr. Houtsma worked for 4 1/2 years at an exclusively equine

In his free time Dr. Houtsma enjoys working on
the farm that he and his wife own; they have a menagerie of cows,
horses, a donkey, several goats, four dogs, nine cats, 2 rabbits
and a few chickens. Dr. Houtsma especially enjoys riding his horse
(and roping when he can) and spending time with his family.
