Emergency Services

Emergency & Urgent Care

We understand that emergencies can happen at any time, and that it is a very stressful time for you and your pet. If your pet needs emergency care:

  • Please first try calling your regular veterinarian to see if they can accommodate you.
  • Call before heading in- Our staff will be able to advise you on whether or not we will be able to accommodate you and your pet, or if a referral to another Emergency Facility is necessary.
  • During the Covid-19 pandemic, all client services are being handled curb-side. Your pet will be assessed and likely taken into the building for initial assessment and stabilization. You will be asked to approve initial care. Depending on what your pet needs and time required for treatment, you may be able to leave instead of waiting to talk to a doctor.  The doctor will call you to discuss treatment options and costs. At that time, there may be some documents for you to review and either sign or approve over the phone.

For after hour emergencies please call (660) 747-5162. Please listen carefully as our after hour emergency hours have changed. If you are a current client or active military with an emergency you may call the on-call doctor up until 9 pm. After-hour emergency fees will apply.  For all other emergencies between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. please  contact Blue Pearl Emergency Clinic at (816) 554-4990.

For any non-client equine emergencies, please call (573) 882-4589.

We appreciate your respectful use of  emergency calls for true emergencies only. Emergencies can be things such as accidental ingestion of rat poison, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion.

Non-emergent or chronic health issues will be deferred until regular business hours.
